Salsa
The Salsa is a popular form of Social Dance that originated in Cuba and Puerto Rico in the late 1890’s. A distillation of many Latin and Afro-Caribbean dances whose movements have roots in the Mambo, Cha-Cha and other dance forms, the evolution of Salsa was in large part due to this intricate mix of styles.
Salsa is a very energetic Latin dance with lots of spins, sharp movements, and crisp turns; very popular in Latin clubs. It’s one of the most popular dances with a sexy Latin beat! Usually danced quite quickly, Salsa is a great way to get in shape, work on musicality, and introduce yourself to the “language” of Latin dancing.
It is a fun, flirty, and simple dance, great for couples or just to catch someone’s eye!
